Do you have dark and scruffy elbows and knees? Scrubbing with soap does not usually help one get an even skin tone, when pigmentation occurs on these areas of the skin. Here are a few home remedies that will help one lighten the skin tone of elbows and knees.
Lemon: Lemon consists natural bleaching properties, that can help even skin tone. Just apply the juice of a lemon on these areas and massage gently. Leave on for at least 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. Do this for a couple of weeks and see the difference.
Curd: It is known to be a good moisturizer. You may not know that sour curd can also help lighten one's skin tone. You just need to add a teaspoon of vinegar and gram flour to sour curd, and apply the mix. Keep it for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Aloe vera: It helps make the skin supple. Break open a fleshy aloe vera leaf, and apply the pulp on rough skin. Leave on for about 20 minutes and rinse with cold water. Top up with a aloe moisturizer.
Coconut oil: To soften rough skin, apply massage affected areas with, and then go for a warm shower. Do not apply soap, just pat dry. You can also squeeze in a few drops of lemon juice.
Baking soda with milk: Make a thick paste of baking soda and milk. Apply the paste on your elbows and knees and rinse after five minutes. Repeat this once a week for two months.
